Theater trained. Cabaret made.

Every icon has a beginning, and Irene's was forged in the fires of professional musical theatre. Having trained rigorously in the discipline of stagecraft, vocals and performance, she spent years honing her skills in the demanding world of industry theatre. But the traditional stage couldn't quite contain the sheer scale of her personality.

The alter ego of Irene Bru was born out of a desire to smash the boundaries between the audience and the performer. Stepping into the world of drag, Irene fused her theatrical precision with the bold, unfiltered magic of cabaret. Crowning her signature look with her iconic blue hair, she quickly transformed from a theatrical performer into a sought-after drag artist and an award-winning pantomime dame, proving that you can take the girl out of the theater, but you can't take the theater out of the girl.
